We are committed to delivering designs that have a clear visual message and core values. By taking our client's preferences into account, our goal is to build a cohesive brand identity, logos, and business cards, to help the business stand out. Our goal is to create a brand that makes an impact and captures the attention of patients and customers alike.

Our Overall Team Goals:

Our team is prepared and qualified to work on projects including creating a website, a logo, and a business card for Dr. Taylor. We have a wide variety of students with experience in web development, design, UX, and much more. We are confident in reaching our goals of creating these three items for Dr. Taylor.

The Team

The execution of this assignment complies well with the norm of our discipline of website development because of our strong collective website programming background, we will be able to build the client’s website. Through research of how this task is done in our sector of website programming and design, others typically have a website developer team where some take on the backend and some take on the frontend. We know our team could take a similar approach depending on everyone’s strengths.

The task of building a website for our client is usually done in our sector in a few different steps. First, they do a ‘kickoff’ where they will meet with the client and gather all the data about what the outcome will be of the project they’re tackling. Next is the discovery phase where web designers will combine their notes from the kickoff with their own research and analytics. They will also enter the creative stage to help put out all of their ideas for the website. After all the data, research, and planning is done, it is time for the development process. This is where the actual coding will begin, front-end and back-end programming with a team full of developers to check each other's work. Throughout the whole process, constant updates/check-ins with the client are necessary.

I am a full-stack web developer majoring in web programming and design at Purdue University. Web design combines my love of computers and design with my love of working with people and clients. My goal is to always work with clients to create a finished product that we are both proud of and that is both functional and beautiful. I started with freelance work over 8 years ago working to create custom sites from the ground up for clients to bring their dreams to life. At college, I have worked on interdisciplinary teams including Purdue Convocations, a myriad of artists, other developers, and a wide range of students to bring projects to life. Recently I worked on a project that set up a large interactive art sculpture combining mental health and art for Purdue's student body. I am well versed in over 12 programming languages, web hosting, and love to keep up with the newest in web technology!

Emily Page

Website Programmer

Considering outside Purdue class experience, I have had three internships with Allstate working on website design, full stack development, and IOS mobile application development. Throughout those experiences, I programmed and debugged application updates for biweekly deployments to the entire company. I also designed and led a group project to compare Allstate and their competitors, and conducted research to show which insurance company was preferable in various categories, working with other interns. Additionally, I have a working knowledge of REST-ful APIs, mobile IOS app development, and Junit framework. For the full stack development, I was able to develop code to include a missing policy in Allstate databases, and make policy test cases more efficient. Finally, for website design, I was able to build multiple web pages for the Allstate Agility Resource Center to showcase their new Outcome-Based Delivery methods. At Purdue, I am a Website Programming major.

Gopika Nair

Design / Art Team Member

With freelance video experience for two YouTubers, I have developed a keen eye for visual storytelling and audience engagement. My key skills are video editing, motion graphics, and branding, and tailoring content to resonate with a multitude of audiences. In terms of being a collaborative group member, the freelance projects I've taken on demanded not only technical expertise, but also creative understanding when communicating with the client and adhering to tight deadlines. In video production, visual cohesiveness is crucial, and the ability to create eye-catching thumbnails, graphics, and transitions directly translates into the ability to design compelling logos that communicate a brand identity effectively. While I create content for my clients tailored to their needs, I also equip them with strategies that will optimize their potential to garner an online audience. This understanding of audience engagement strategies can also be applied to crafting posts, managing a business’s social media accounts, and helping to maintain an active, engaging online presence that attracts and retains customers. Lastly, my freelance background means I am well-versed in managing client relationships, understanding project briefs, and delivering high-quality work under pressure—which is essential for running successful social media campaigns and delivering strong visual branding.

Caroline Dixon

Design / Art Team

Through my Game Design and Development major, I have a lot of experience working in different software and working on development teams dealing with skills very similar to web design - namely UX and logo design. I have done character design work for many different teams and have skills in the Adobe suite and in applying art assets to compiled products. I have also been a leader of previous creative projects, and I feel confident in my ability to apply what I’ve learned in those projects to collaborating with team members in order to create a professional end product.

Shayla Hufford

Website Programmer

Before attending Purdue, I attended Black Hawk College to earn my Associate's degree. While there, I did an independent study where I created a fake makeup brand. From this project/study, I gained knowledge and experience building a brand identity and logo, designing packaging, and taking studio photos, which I used to create advertisements to "sell" the products. Then, during the 2023-2024 school year (my first year at Purdue after transferring), I redesigned assigned web pages for the West Lafayette Public Library. Through this job, I was able to help the library make its website more understandable and accessible for patrons, as certain web pages before were visually unappealing and difficult to navigate. During the 2024 fall semester, I am learning data visualization and front/back-end web development in my classes. I am also looking into being a prospective graphic/web design intern for Purdue Christian Campus House. Though I may have less experience than my peers on this project, I look forward to learning from this experience and applying the knowledge to my future career endeavors.

Kiki Mitrakis

Website Programmer

After 3 years of being in the Web Programming & Design major, I’ve grown a sharper eye to detail and a better understanding of what goes into developing sites. My personal design style brings to the table a unique outlook on what a finished product can look like, while keeping it polished and professional at the same time. Being a leader of various past projects also gave insight in how to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment to make sure all project details are brought to fruition and as they should function. My past work as a lead designer on projects showcases my ability to create a product that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. My skills in UX and data visualization also help to relate to the audience and project’s specific demographic, so the consumer is getting the best result out of their experience.
